JOB SUMMARY:  This position is located at the MWR Bowling Center operation at NAS Jacksonville. The purpose of this position is to assist with the daily operation of the bowling center.

MAJOR DUTIES: Receives and records on computerized point of sale system money received from patrons.  Answers phone providing information about facility, equipment, hours of operation and programs offered.  Receives, records and makes reservations for use of the facility.  Maintains a change fund.  Prepares a daily activity report at the end of shift and deposits funds at the Navy Exchange cash office.  Assists with general housekeeping of facility such as; policing grounds, sweeping and dusting of work area, emptying trash receptacles and cleaning of restrooms. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Knowledge and ability to operate a computerized point of sale system and provide proper change.  Must have a basic knowledge of a bowling operation.  Must have the ability to meet and deal effectively with a variety of patrons of varied rates, ranks and backgrounds.  Must be able to work in an at times stressful environment as this position is the first line of contact with patrons and must have the ability to answer related questions during extremely busy times.  Must be able to exercise good judgment in applying well established policies and procedures. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Work may involve periods of standing as well as some bending, stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds.

NOTE:  Some positions have special requirements. Selection may be tentative pending the completion of the satisfactory employment reference checks and receipt of proof of education (where applicable). Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period. Participation in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required. We utilize E-Verify to confirm selectee’s eligibility to work in the United States. Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. SPOUSAL PREFERENCE

·         Spousal Preference can be used only once to gain regular full time employment in the commuting area but may be used multiple times for flexible type position.

·         Spousal Preference can only be used for NAF positions at the NF-03 non-supervisory level and below and all NA, NL, NS (Craft/Trade) positions.
