Naval Air Station Jacksonville is one of the Navy’s finest and fastest-growing installations. We are the largest Navy base in the Southeast Region and third in the nation. Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) enables a ready Navy force through quality of life programs, such as Family Readiness, Fleet Readiness and Housing programs. Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) is responsible for policy development, resourcing and oversight FFR Programs for Sailors and their families.
The Fleet Readiness division includes many Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) programs and services. These programs include: fitness and sports, deployed support, golf, bowling, marina and outdoor recreation, restaurants and catering, flying club, auto skills center, the Single Sailor or Liberty program, Tickets and Travel, and special events.
Fleet Readiness also includes the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites, formerly known as the Visitors Quarters or VQ, along with MWR's cottages, as well as the galley (Flightline Cafe) and MWR food and beverage services including Dewey's, Mulligan's Restaurant & Bar and the River Cove Catering and Conference Center at Naval Air Station Jacksonville.
The Family Readiness division provides programs and services provided through Fleet and Family Support Centers, such as relocation assistance, information and referral, financial management counseling, spouse employment services, family advocacy and the transition assistance program.
Family Readiness also consists of Child and Youth Programs, such as Child Development Centers and the Child Development Home Program.
The Navy Housing division is responsible for the overall management of all housing Navywide, including permanent party family housing and bachelor quarters. Through its public-private venture (PPV) mission, the Navy is revitalizing military housing by partnering with private sector developers to offer quality, affordable housing communities.

The NAS Jacksonville Personnel Support Detachment is located inside bldg. 789 at the corner of Child Street and Birmingham Avenue. Call (904) 542-4218 to schedule an appointment for ID Cards or any other personnel action.

Child and Youth Programs also have a School Liaison Officer (SL) that serves as the primary link between schools, Commanders and military parents for K-12 educational issues. The SL informs and links military families to the resources and information needed to maximize the educational opportunities to ensure academic success for all military children.
